Please Help Me Find My Snow Person!
After making snow people we LOST them! So to help find them we wrote 4 sentences describing them without using "Dead Verbs" (is, are, was, were, has, have, had, etc). This WAS, oops, This writing caused the third graders much despair. Checkout the hallway to see if you can match the snow people with their description.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
The children are nestled, all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads! While poems of cinquain cover them up for a nap.
Poems with 5 lines, 1 word, 2 words, 3 words, 4 words, and 1 word again. They are shaped like a Christmas tree!
The mittens were hung on the wall with care, it hopes that the third graders learned about symmetry!

Sharing Thanksgiving Cheer!
The third graders enjoyed several lively games of Thanksgiving Bingo with the nursing home and assisted living residents today. Everyone had fun, and everyone was a winner! Mrs. Reese and I were very proud of the third graders' behavior and caring attitude as they enjoyed spending time with the residents.
Christmas Sharing Project
With Christmas right around the corner, we are looking ahead to our 3rd grade Christmas activities. We started a new tradition a few years ago, and both parents and students felt it was very meaningful and worthwhile. We’d like to continue that tradition again this year.
Each year, rather than have a class gift exchange, we have chosen a charity to donate to which the third graders feel a connection. In the past we have donated to the Carroll County Haiti Mission Project and the Philippines Typhoon Relief fund. This year the third graders have really embraced honoring and helping veterans, so we have chosen Operation Shoebox as our charity. This organization sends care packages to service members all over the world. To learn more about it, visit the following website: https://operationshoebox.com/.
We are asking students to bring in donations for Operation Shoebox care packages. The specific items that we will be collecting include:
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Dental Floss
- Travel size body wash
- Travel size shampoo
- Travel size tissues
*All items should be new, in unopened packages
Please send your donations to school on or before December 16th. Thank you so much for donating to this very worthy cause. And, thank you, too, for helping us share the true meaning of the season with our 3rd graders.
Happy Holidays!
Thanksgiving Feast
All 38 third graders shared all the things they were thankful for! I am very thankful for all these wonderful smiling faces! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Visitors
Friday the AFS/International Club hosted exchange students from different countries. We were lucky enough to hear presentations from students from Italy and Indonesia. Thanks so much to Mrs. Nicholas for providing this great opportunity!
American Education Week Day 1
First, Kristina won Wildcat of the Month for her hard work on improving her grades!! Next, we thanked all of the people that help make our school a great place! Kristina is holding up the sign for the custodians.
Others we thanked were the cooks, administration, paraprofessionals, the school board, the teachers, the kids, OT, PT, speech, bus drivers, parents, technology, secretaries, counselor, the nurse, and the volunteers.
Then a student from each class participated in the cookie/milk challenge. Fallon from fifth grade was the first to finish his cookie and his milk! Gwen gave it a good shot for third grade!
Last, some of the teachers tried the cookie/milk challenge! Just when I got up there they ran out of milk so I didn't have to do the challenge but I still got a cookie!!
